Mimi Wolf and Jeff Gitterman could’ve never guessed that when she first started working for his finance company, one day she’d become Mrs. Gitterman. “Little did we know, the return on this investment would be greater than either could’ve ever predicted or prayed for,” Mimi says. After four years together, they got engaged in their home in Manhattan and then decided on a November beach wedding in Miami.
To help plan everything, the couple hired Jeff Stillwell of Stillwell Events, and to set the tone, they hired Polk Paper to design the invitation suite and day-of stationery. On the night before they said, “I do,” they hosted a rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks at Soho Beach House. “The space was very lush and drinks under the palms was the perfect kick-off to the weekend,” the bride remembers.
On November 9th, 2019, Mimi got ready with Shan Styles and Gabriella Elena before putting on her Monique Lhuillier flocked, dotted tulle, strapless ballgown. “I like myself in clothing that has more of a structure to it,” she remarks. “I loved how that was the case with the dress’s bodice, yet it was still so soft and feminine.”
For her “something borrowed,” Mimi wore her mother’s diamond earrings. And she completed her bridal ensemble with Dior J’Adior slingback pumps. She had searched high and low for those shoes, but they were sold out in her size. “Then one day, I got a phone call from a friend of mine from Chicago, who knew I wanted to wear these shoes for my wedding,” the bride explains. “They had them in the Dior store in her area, and she snatched them up for me on the spot!”
To look uniform yet still elegant next to the bride, bridesmaids wore midnight blue, off-the-shoulder dresses from The Dessy Group, while the groomsmen wore black tuxedos from The Black Tux. The groom looked handsome in a custom, dark blue tuxedo and patent leather Christian Louboutin dress shoes.
At Acqualina Resort, Mimi walked down the aisle with her parents to meet Jeff under their gorgeous chuppah, decorated by The Style Marc. “In Judaism, the chuppah symbolizes the home, and I hope to always keep my home as happy as the one I entered on my wedding night,” the bride says. “I wrote my vows on cocktail napkins during a flight from L.A., and Jeff wrote his while journaling on a silent retreat in the mountains. We both tucked them away assuming we would need to make edits, but neither one of us changed a thing after the first drafts.” At the end of the ceremony with Rabbi Silverman, Jeff stomped on the glass, the newlyweds walked back down the aisle to “Apeshit” by The Carters.
With a smaller guest list of 90, everyone was able to sit at one long table for dinner, where they found custom monogrammed menus with their names that doubled as place cards. After dinner, the new Mr. and Mrs. had their first dance to “At Last” by Etta James, as a nod to Barack and Michelle Obama, who danced to the same song at his inauguration.
Mimi had planned on a dress change for more dancing, but she was having such a good time that she didn’t want to leave the floor. And for good reason, as the event team built a disco lounge for the after-party with Juniors Entertainment.
Immediately following the wedding weekend, Mimi and Jeff headed to The Ocean Club in the Bahamas for a mimi-moon. They were going to spend their honeymoon in Greece but weren’t able to because of the pandemic. Mimi adds, “I know we’ll go when it’s safe to travel again!”
